We provide consultation relating to many local business needs including starting a new business, training issues, market cultivation and many others. We also provide technology coordinators, credit analysts, venture capital mentoring and multimedia coordination.

Established in April 1999, the Shimane Industrial Promotion Foundation (SIPF) is embarking on a new future to make Shimane Prefecture, Japan better than ever before. The SIPF was formed by combining the Corporation for the Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises and the Association for the Promotion of Technology to create a foundation that provides a variety of support services for local businesses.

Our goal is to make sure that small and medium businesses in Shimane prefecture are given a chance to succeed, grow and expand. Lack of good management experience, techniques, research, technology, and resources can all prevent businesses from reaching their full potential. The SIPF provides services in six areas to help businesses overcome any obstacles they might encounter.

The Shimane Information Center, a division of the foundation offers a wide variety of communication services including introductions, language facilitation and Internet access. If you would like to find out more about the advantages of setting up a business in Shimane, would like more detailed information about a particular Shimane company or product or are just interested in what Shimane has to offer, please feel free to contact the center. The information center employs a Coordinator of International Relations (CIR) to deal with language facilitation and translation.

The SIPF provides many opportunities for businesses to improve their knowledge base through seminars, conferences, and communication networks. One example is the recently created Shimane-Tsukuba network with Tsukuba Science City, a well known research center of Japan and the home of Tsukuba University, to provide a wider range of experts in business related areas.

Using new technologies such as the Internet to expand markets and increase communication is another service offered by the foundation. An internet store has been set up to give businesses that would not normally be able to use e-commerce the opportunity of selling their products to a much broader market.

Along with assistance in financing and management training, the foundation also maintains branch offices and advisors in major metropolitan areas to allow new companies a smooth transition to new markets.

Located in the new Soft Business Park in Matsue, the capital city of Shimane prefecture, the Shimane Industrial Promotion Foundation is a one stop support and consulting service for businesses.
