map Shimane Prefecture played an imPortant role in the formation of the state, and with its own unique culture, it has been known as the Home of the Gods. Located along approximately 200 kilometers of Sea of Japan coastline from east to west, Shimane Prefecture also boasts the rich green mountains of the Chugoku Mountain Range to the south. In recent years we have made significant advancements in the construction system of an airPort, an expressway & a Port; and advancements in the information communication industry, as well as facilities for higher education in order to produce even greater professionals.
